Know The Facts

Knowing the facts is more important than ever in today’s world. While kids themselves haven’t changed, the substances available to them have—drastically.

Over the past 25 years, alcohol and marijuana have become significantly more potent, contributing to new generations of addiction. Adolescent brains are especially vulnerable to these highly potent substances, and factors such as family genetics and frequency of use further increase the risk of long-term addiction.

The face of addiction has changed—it is no longer just an adult issue. Staying informed and actively involved can mean the difference between a life of health, happiness, and success versus one controlled by substance use, leading to devastating consequences, including death. There is no cure for addiction—only recovery, and recovery is difficult. Adolescents, in particular, struggle with the recovery process, making early intervention essential.
